90210

Nana forgot her lunch when she went to school so Hannah and I took Nana some lunch and visited where she works. This was Uncle Josh's high school back in the day and where they filmed some of Beverly Hills 90210.

Picking up El Burrito Jr.
Hannah was anxious to do some school work after missing a week of school.

Walley World

The Monday following the funeral, Hannah, Grandma, and I set off for Six Flags Magic Mountain for a day of roller coaster fun.
When we arrived, it was CLOSED! The third day in the last 20 years it was closed. On 9-11, the North ridge earthquake, and the day we showed up as their water main had broken and the park didn't have any water.
This was the park they filmed Chevy Chase's Family Vacation movie when they arrived at Walley World.

Now I know how Clark W Griswald felt after coming so far.

Uncle Dave

The reason we went to LA was to go to my Uncle Dave's funeral. He was quite the amazing guy. I sure loved him. So sad to lose him from cancer at only 59. It was a sad time, but nice to be surrounded by those who loved him, too.

Venice Beach and Santa Monica Beach

We walked along Venice Beach, visited muscle beach, and grabbed some yummy fish tacos. We had a great time playing in the surf and collecting shells in the LA sunshine.

Hannah wouldn't do the muscle arms in front of muscle beach
She did like a root beer float

$2 Fish and shrimp tacos. Yummy!

Space Shuttle Endeavor and the Memorial Coliseum

The California Science Center is also home to the Space Shuttle Endeavor. The shuttle was magnificent!  It was great to see it with Grandpa and Hannah.

Its the space toilet. Better buckle in so you don't float away.
We watched a movie of the shuttle being transported through the streets of  LA.
We watched an IMAX film of the astronaut's life and views at the space station.
Those are some huge engines!
It was so awesome to see one in real life.

Just outside the California Science Center is the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum home to 2 Olympic games, the USC Trojan football team, and now the LA Rams.

So cool. Too bad no one was playing.
Then we stopped for some In -n Out on our way to Ojai, CA.
Happy Birthday Grandpa. We sure had a great time with you.We love you and miss you. Have a Happy Birthday.
