Sea-Fair

We went to the Seattle Sea-Fair to see the Blue Angels again. We went to a different beach this year.

It was HOT and there wasn't much shade so Dan and Hannah took refuge in Lake Washington. Can you find them? No? They're waaaaaay out there. The last ones. (This is as far as my camera would zoom.) Sorry no pictures of the blue angels...they were even further away than Dan and Hannah!

Little Rachel and I found a patch of shade under some blackberry bushes. We set up a little blanket and had a cozy picnic at the beach.

Is there anything better than watermelon at the beach in the summer? I don't think so.

She's already too busy!?! I thought that didn't happen until the teenage years. Guess I was wrong.

Half Birthday

Last week was Hannah's 2 1/2 birthday and the week before that Rachel turned 6 months old! We had a cake to celebrate.

A note about the cake: Hannah and Dan went out to our backyard and picked a bucket full of wild blackberries. Yum. So I made a really yummy blackberry filling that made this blah-box cake a little more festive. I was going to make the cake look yummy too, but ran out of time and just threw the frosting one so we could eat it and send those tired girls to bed already!

Little Rachel was very upset that she didn't get any cake. Sorry, baby. You can have cake on your actual birthday. Here are the stats from Rachels 6 month check up....

She is 14lbs (the 10th %) and 27 3/4" long (97th %). The doctor was very impressed by her strength and sitting abilities. She said Rachel is sitting at an 8th month level ;)
Happy half-birthday to my beautiful little girls!

Minnesota Mountain Man

As requested, here are the photos of Dan, the Minnesota Mountain Man.

When we got back from SF this hairy guy greeted us at the airport. I almost didn't recognize him.

I complained about the beard, so Dan shaved. Sort of.
He called this "the wolvorine look." What do you think?
The next phase of the ever-changing Mountain Man Beard was the handlebars. Oh my.

Luckily, the next day was Sunday, and I got my clean-shaven hubby back (pictures of him coming soon). Bye-bye Mountain Man.

A few weeks ago the girls and I took a trip to San Francisco while Dan was in Minneapolis on a business trip. We got to spend the whole week playing with the Masons.

Little Rachel soaked Cheryl's kitchen during bath time.

Hannah LOVES to jump on the trampoline.

This is Vivian. She is a little friend who came over to play with Hannah one day. They play so well together. It was so nice!

Uncle Tim!

Reading books at bedtime.

Little Rachel's new favorite toy is this toothbrush (go figure). She never let it go...even when she was sleeping!

At the Cement Slide Park

Little Rachel LOVED playing in the sand.

We went to a little farm while we were there to see a family of 10 baby pigs.

We had a great trip! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for letting us come!

Singing Hannah

Here is a little something for the grandma's since I haven't posted anything in a while. I have lots to post about, but not a lot of time since little Rachel is right in the middle of her "separation anxiety" stage and cries whenever I put her down. Hopefully I can make some time this week to update the blog. Look forward to posts about our recent trip to San Francisco, Dan the Mountain Man, Rachel's 6 month check-up, Hannah's 2 1/2 birthday cake, the blue angels and lots more!

Every morning Hannah likes to read books to Rachel in the rocking chair. It makes me so happy to see them playing together. They are such lucky girls to have each other. Hooray for sisters!
