Ashley's 63rd Birthday

For Ashley's birthday, while the girls were in school we went to the Ballard Locks to watch the boats and look for salmon at the fish ladder. We went to lunch in Seattle, visited the Starbucks Reserve Roastery (their fanciest shop and no we didn't get anything to drink) and then went to Salt and Straw ice cream. Happy Birthday!

The night before Ashley's birthday, while Hannah and Ashley were playing at Activity Days, Rachel and Naomi made Ashley a Happy Birthday carrot cake. 

The next day, Hannah helped frost and decorate the cake.

The kids ate it all, so it must have been pretty good.
