Pool Time with Nana

It was really hot when we were in LA. The girls (and Jake the dog) went in the pool to cool down.

Thanks Nana for taking such good care of our girls!

Long Beach Aquarium

Once again I am unable to arrange the orders of the photos (anyone know why??). But here are the photos from our trip to the Long Beach Aquarium..

I thought it was so funny how Rachel was relaxing in the stroller. She cracks me up.

Did you know that fish like lettuce? Apparently they do. That's what this diver was carrying and all the fish were swarming to get some.

Hannah petting the sharks

Hannah really wanted to hold a bird. But the sign's said no touching. She was really good and didn't touch.

She kept holding out her hand hoping one would fly to her.

They had a little stage for a children's theatre. Hannah got called up out of the audience to play the turtle. It's funny watching a 2 year old on stage. She kept dissappearing. All the other kids were just as distracted, but it was fun to watch.

Rachel watching Hannah on the stage.

I love to go to the aquarium. :)

Angels Game

Dan and I left the girls with my parents and went to an Angels game. Thanks Mom and Dad :)

It was Dan's first time to Angels Stadium and it was hat night. Hooray! Sadly, they lost. But we had a great time anyway. Go Angels!

LA Zoo

Here we are at the LA Zoo. It turned out to be 107 degrees there that day. Needless to say we didn't stay for very long. We saw a few animals and then headed home.

For some reason I am unable to change the order of the photos....so here they are in no particular order....

Hannah not sharing the hippo.

Trying to find relief from the heat.

Rachel got her first sno-cone. She LOVED it. Hannah liked getting to feed it to her.

Family photo by the giraffe's. Hannah didn't want to be held. Even for a picture with the lion.

The Beach

Who can go to So Cal without making a trip to the beach? Well, me. I like to drive by. Smell the air. And then go to El Paso for some salsa. But this doesn't satisfy Dan. So we "went to the beach." He talked me into it with promises of El Burrito Jr (which didn't dissappoint bytheway. We even got to eat most of it before the birds got ahold of the bag. Darn Seagulls).

I kept Rachel's binki in the whole time so she wouldn't eat the sand. Worked like a charm.

Hannah was excited to go into the water. But after one wave, she thought it was too cold.

Rachel's first trip to the beach!

One of the reasons I love Dan is his enthusiasm. He sure does make things fun.
All in all it was a fun day. Thanks Dan, for making me go to the beach.

My Birthday at Disneyland

After our fun weekend in San Diego, we went to LA to spend some time with my family. We went to Disneyland to celebrate my birthday.

Mickey!

Pluto!

On the Carousel

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Dumbo

Tiger Rachel made an apperance while we were waiting for the Nemo ride.

Rachel with Nana and Papa

Rachel enjoyed the Nemo ride (at least for a while, then she fell asleep).

Hannah and Dan on the Rockets

I was really excited to take both the girls on It's A Small World. I thought Hannah would really enjoy it.

Despite my efforts to wake her, she slept through the whole ride!
Rachel, however, loved it.

No. That isn't my child licking the boat. Really, it isn't.

We were so glad that Hannah got to meet Tigger! She was so excited she asked him to bounce with her and he did.

Hannah's favorite ride was the Winnie the Pooh ride. She rode it many times. (Thanks Nana and Papa for taking her again and again).

She also got a stuffed Pooh--her new favorite friend. She sleeps with him every night (thanks Nana and Papa)
Hannah's other favorite ride was Peter Pan (sorry, no picture). She kept shouting, "We can fly! We can fly!" So cute. Later in the day we saw Captain Hook and asked her if she wanted to meet him. "No. Go faster Daddy!"

For my birthday I wanted a giant pickle. I offered it to Hannah so she could have a bite and she ate more than half of it. That girl loves her pickles.

Hannah wouldn't sing happy birthday, but she did help me blow out the candles.
Thanks Grandma for the yummy cake!
Hannah and Grannie.
We had such a great day at Disneyland. It was such a fun birthday. We packed a lot into our little trip. More posts coming....sometime! :)
