Last weekend was the Salmon Days Festival here in Issaquah. It was just a block away from our house. We went two days in a row so there are a lot of pictures. The first day it was pouring rain and we got pretty wet but we still had lots of fun. Luckily the weather was better on the second day. We started by watching the parade. There were floats there from all over Washington, Oregon, Idaho and even a few from Canada.
This float from Wenachee was about apples and they gave Hannah a little pin. She wore it on her overalls (which she calls "overs") all day.
This was our favorite float. It was about water conservation and every few minutes they did a little routine where they sat on thier toilets and read newspapers.
Hannah really liked any float with a princess on it. She wandered pretty close to a few of them and one nice princess offered to hold her for a picture.
When Hannah thought the parade was lacking, she entertained herself by gathering rocks from the street...
...and by playing in peoples front yards.
A lot of the floats had music. Of course YMCA played a few times.
They had free train rides which Hannah loved.
Hooray for free pony rides!
They also had free jumping tents. Hannah jumped for so long. We didn't know how we were ever going to get her out of there. Then some big kids came in and it only took a few minutes for Hannah to get knocked over and start to cry. It was worth it, though.
This is our friend Jamie. Hannah was sharing her rocks with her.
They had a giant blow up salmon that kids could go in and hear a story.
Hannah eating ice cubes, drinking lemonade, and enjoying her red balloon.
Don't you just love carnival food?
